September Happenings

September brought some change for me in my work place.  I moved over to the Half-Day preschool side of our childcare center.  That simply means that the children I now teach are only there from 9-12 each day.  I finally feel like I'm teaching again.  I can come to school and have a little bit of time to get my lesson plans together and then when my students leave I have time to clean up and get ready for the next day.  It has been a breath of fresh air for me.

We started preschool the day after Labor Day.  Ginny is in my class this year.  Laura Lynn started her preschool class that day too.

September also brought some birthdays for us.  Jamie celebrated his birthday on the 12th, Katie on the 26th, and me on the 29th.

Eli started playing fall baseball.  He is in the minor league this year--which means his games start at 7:30 at night and are over at 9:00.  We get him to the ball field around 6:30 and it's a long night.  He's playing catcher and is doing really good with it.  He seems to enjoy the game this time around a little more.

We had a garage sale one early Saturday morning.  There were people have sales for 30 miles along the road.  It was very successful.

Ginny learned how to make her muscles look really big!

Katie and Lollie went to a birthday party and enjoyed the rock wall.
We went to a great free program at the Colonial Life Arena that celebrated the military.  We were able to sit on the 2nd row.  It was very patriotic and wonderful!

The Tuesday before Katie's birthday, the kids got out of school early. Jamie was off that day so we took them to the zoo. They had a blast rock climbing, riding ponies, and seeing the animals.

I took Katie cupcakes to school on her birthday along with lunch.  She chose "hamburger" cupcakes made out of brownies and cupcakes.
Katie's awesome teacher from last year, Mrs. LaMarche, took Katie for her first pedicure on her birthday.  She said she had never seen Katie sit so still before.  : )  She almost fell asleep.
For Katie's birthday this year, we had another slumber party. It was a crafting/art party. The girls were all really well behaved and seemed to have a lot of fun with all of the crafts that we had. Her cake was a paint pallette.  It was fun!

And of course, we couldn't forget the adventures with Papa and a tractor.
