The Park

Well, not much has been going on since my last entry. We had a good weekend. Eli was able to enjoy some great watermelon that Nana had sent him. As you can see from the picture, he had it all over him. I think he ate about 3 bowls before I made him quiet.
Friday night we went up to the ball field to watch Wyatt play baseball. It looked like it was going to rain, but we thought it might hold out until after the game. We were also waiting for Jamie to make it home from work so that we could go out to eat with my parents. Unfortunately, we didn't beat the rain to the car. I was pushing Katie as fast as I could in the stroller with Eli running along beside me. We got a little wet, but it was all right since our clothes could dry out.
I was able to go to a program at church Saturday morning and my dad watched Eli for me. I took Katie with me. I'm glad that he volunteered to keep Eli because I wasn't going to go since I had no one to watch Eli. I really enjoyed the program. It was a nice spiritual pick me up.
Tuesday night I had given Eli and Katie their bath and they were in their pajamas and they were so cute playing on the floor together. I had to take a picture since they were getting along so well. It's fun having them at an age where they are starting to play together. Eli sure loves his little sister. I looked up from the computer while they were playing and Eli had picked up Katie and laid her up on the couch. We had to have a talk about not picking up Katie and certainly not putting her on the couch.

Wednesday we met some friends at the park for a little playdate. It was lots of fun. It was unusally cool when we got there, but it warmed up by the time we left. We were there about 2hours. It amazed me how fast time flies when you're talking to other people. If it had just been me and my kids, I would have been ready to go after 15 minutes, but with 2 other adults to talk to, time flew by. Below are just a couple of pictures from the park. Spencer and Andrew came and my friend Melissa brought her little girl Michael Savannah. They all had a good time. Eli was very excited when he saw them all come up. He ran out to the car to walk over with Spencer and Andrew. I think he really enjoyed Andrew's little car, too. He would push Andrew in it and then we looked and he and Spencer were taking turns pushing each other. I didn't get any pictures of Katie since I was holding her while I took pictures. She can't do much at the park anyway. She was watching those older kids, so I'm sure it won't be too much longer before she gets down and plays with them. Eli loves the equipment at the park. He was even climbing the little fake rock wall when we got there. Of course, I think his favorite part was throwing wood chips and sand. I had to keep reminding him of the rules hoping that he wouldn't get it into anyone's eyes. We look forward to having more park play dates.
