The Park and Cheerios

We had an opportunity today to meet Jamie and take him to lunch at the park. I made homemade pimento cheese. So, I made us some sandwiches, washed some strawberries, and packed a cooler with Diet Coke and we were on our way. We have found a park that isn't too far from Jamie's work where we can eat in the shade and Eli can play on the equipment. Even though it was in the low 90s today, we were able to sit in the shade and enjoy our lunch hour together. After we got home, Eli slept and Katie decided she didn't need a nap and she played. I fed her cheerios to give her something to do. She enjoyed picking them up out of my hand and then she would very quickly put them in her mouth. I needed to get up for a few minutes and so I put some on the couch. She pulled up and ate them off of the couch. I have a picture of Eli when he was about 9 months old eating them off of the couch. I thought it would be fun having similar pictures.

Hannah came over the other day and she sat on the floor and read to Katie and Eli while I cleaned the kitchen. She's a good little babysitter. After She left the other day, Eli crashed on the floor and slept for like 2 hours. I thought this picture was cute of his sleeping position. He had taken his shirt off so he was just in his pull-up.

One more thought....(since I use this as my journal and I don't want to forget it)...Last night I was in a rush to give Eli his pizza for supper and I was holding Katie so I just handed him his plate and started to walk off. He said, "Pway." I thought he was saying "Plate" so I told him that yes, I had put his pizza on a plate. He said it again, "Pway." I just kind of looked at him and then it hit me...He was saying "Pray." He wanted to pray over his food. It was really humbling to have a 2 1/2 year old remind me to pray for his meal. What a sweetheart he can be!
