Saturday, June 28, 2014--Jamie's Aunt Ann celebrated her 90th birthday. She had a party at her house in Saluda, SC that lasted from 10am until 10pm. Breakfast was served--grits, sausage/cheese casserole, cinnamon rolls, fruit, and pita chips. Lunch was served--BBQ sandwiches, chicken tenders, baked beans, cole slaw, and a lot of different desserts. Supper was served--rolls, roast beef/gravy, green beans, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and corn on the cob.
Aunt Ann asked me to help with the desserts. So, I made about 100 cinnamon rolls for breakfast, 1 recipe worth of red velvet cupcakes, and a great big birthday cake for after supper. I was very happy with how all of the treats turned out. I ordered these little edible butterflies to put on the cake. Laura Lynn and Marley decided to try and few before the day was through. Thank goodness it didn't make the cake look bad.
These are some of Jamie's cousins--we were all wearing white. From left--Cousin Laura, Jamie, me, Cousin Connor (Jamie's cousin Elizabeth's son), and Aunt Mary (Jamie's mom's sister). I had so much fun hanging out with all of the family. I am so blessed to have amazing in-laws. Jamie has so many cousins and we really enjoy spending time with each other.
The girls really enjoyed spending time with the older cousins. These are Jamie's cousins' children who are teenagers to college graduates. These young adults were so good with the kids. They twirled them, chased them, carried them, and let the kids hang all over them all afternoon. Ginny really took a liking to Linda Ann who just graduated from USC last month. They took some selfies.
The last event of the night was a dance. Laura Lynn danced with Aunt Ann--remember she is 90 years old! They had so much fun! I am so grateful to have been a part of the day and gotten to spend my Saturday with so many wonderful people. Happy birthday to Aunt Ann!!
