Day of Service

The first Saturday of Spring Break, our church participated in a day of service.  Our Ward did our service at Blythewood High School because they have been generous this year in letting our seminary students use a room each morning before school.  We cleaned the student activities room as well as did some outdoor work in the front of the school--picking up trash and removing limbs, etc. that were laying around.
When we got there, I was going to go and help outside, but my girls wanted to go inside and see the school.  So, Jamie and Eli headed to the front of the school to clean up and the girls and I headed inside of the school.  We scraped a lot paint off of the floor and countertops.  We cleaned the room the seminary students meet in, and we cleaned the refrigerator, microwave, and surrounding areas that the kids had just dirtied up pretty good.  It was fun and I really enjoyed my children getting into serving.  At home they complain about helping, but it was nice to see them get so involved in cleaning somewhere else.
Katie enjoyed scraping paint alongside our sister missionaries, Sister Leatham and Sister Stott.

Ginny enjoyed helping out with the mopping.
Laura Lynn was good at sweeping and picking up trash on the floor.

I know Eli and Jamie worked hard, but I didn't get any pictures of them.
