Eli's Big Day

Today, June 4th, was a big day for Eli.  It started off at awards day at his school.
He spotted us as he sat down.
These are two of Eli's teachers, Mrs. Cromer and Mrs. Cave.  I taught with Mrs. Cave when I worked at BHE.
First, he received an award for earning the most Accelerated Reader points in his homeroom.

He then earned an award for having all A's all year long.  So far, he has made A's all of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades.  I really hope he can keep it up for next year.

He then was able to stand a couple of times.  If he is at school the rest of the week, he will have perfect attendance.  He also got to stand and received his certificates in class for his participation in chorus and the flag patrol.
We are so proud of how hard he worked this year!  He is a super smart boy!

This evening we went to Eli's pack meeting for cub scouts.  He has earned his Webelos badge.  He was able to pin my mother's pin on my shirt.  He has done so well with Cubscouts.  By the end of the summer, he should have earned his Arrow of Light award which is the highest award in cubscouts.  He is looking forward to camp in 2 1/2 weeks.
He participated in a few skits at the beginning.
He had a monologue that he performed.  It went like this:
I come before you, to stand behind you,
To tell you something I know nothing about.
Admission is free, so pay at the door;
Pull up a chair and sit on the floor.

Early this morning late last night
Two dead soldiers began to fight.
Back to back they faced each other
Drew their swords and shot each other.

A legless donkey passing by
Kicked both men right in the eye.
It knocked them over a 10 foot wall
Into a ditch and drowned them all.

A deaf policeman heard their cries
And came and shot those two dead guys.
If you don't believe this story's true,
Ask the blind man - he saw it too!
He was even in a skit where he was a flight attendant.  It was pretty funny--especially his facial expressions.

Pinning me with the mother's pin.
 Proud of my boy!
