Christmas Day

Christmas morning was very nice! I woke up not feeling too great. My throat was sore and I didn't have a lot of energy, but I was still able to enjoy watching everyone open their presents. Since Laura Lynn had slept with me all night, she was the first up. She enjoyed her present from Santa--a riding/rocking toy.
Katie got a new Leapster 2 and 4 games from Santa.
Eli got a paper jamz drum and amplifier from Santa.
Ginny got moon dough from Santa.
They all got a great big pirate ship that Santa left behind. Everyone enjoyed it.

They opened lots of presents from under the tree. Everyone got some new movies and the older 3 all got zhu zhu pets. Katie was so excited! She had been wanting one for a while.

After we opened up everything, the children were able to play for a while before going over to my parents. We went over and had an amazing breakfast--grits, sausage, waffles, the works. We had lots of presents to open at Grandma and Papa's. The children all got more zhu zhu pets there and enjoyed "battling" with each other's zhu zhu pets.

By the time we were finished opening presents, my throat was really hurting and my whole body was achy. We packed up our stuff and started getting ready to go to Barnwell to enjoy Christmas with the Benson family. I took a hydrocodone because my throat hurt so bad, so I slept the whole way down there. After a while, I was really feeling bad, so I went upstairs to lay down. I came down to open presents. Again, we had lots of presents to open and had fun playing with the cousins.
Supper looked so delicious, but unfortunately for me, I didn't feel like eating anything. Jamie's mom and sister had already fed the baby while I was laying down upstairs. Laura Lynn and I laid on the couch during supper and napped. After supper, I really felt bad and at that point felt nauseated. So, Jamie suggested that we go ahead and come home and not spend the night as we had planned. I was very disappointed not to get to visit with everyone and stay the night, but I didn't want to get anyone else sick.

Sunday morning, we woke up to lots of snow. Jamie took the children out into the snow and played, and I stayed inside sleeping on and off all day. Luckily, Bill had some amoxicillin that I could start taking and it was enough between his and Wyatt's leftover medicine for a whole prescription so that I didn't have to go to the doctor. I knew I had strep throat by then, so I had to start the antibiotic.
Sunday evening, Jamie and the kids went over to Mama and Daddy's for supper. Jamie brought Ginny back early because she had started feeling bad. She threw up on him on the walk back home. So, I stayed here with her and cleaned her up and watched her while the others played next door. By the evening I had started feeling a little better and I'm glad I did because I was up every 30 minutes with Ginny as she tried to throw up in her bucket. Finally by about 3am, she settled down and fell fast asleep.
Eli had spent the night with Bill and Jennifer Sunday night and Monday morning he was brought home by 8:30 because he was throwing up. Fortunately he only got sick twice and was done.
So, we had an eventful Christmas day and the day after Christmas. It took us a while to get all of our toys put away and get our decorations down, but we took it easy since we had all been so sick. I only ended up working one day that week because we were all just trying to get our energy back.
