I hate being SICK!

I hate being sick! The week started out great! Jamie didn't have to work any late shifts, so we were able to have supper together Monday and Tuesday. Monday night I experimented making egg rolls. They were really good. I cooked up the filling and rolled them and Jamie had the job of frying them. He did an excellent job--they were the perfect golden brown. Tuesday night we invited Daddy over for supper since Mama was at the temple. Eli helped cook that night. He sliced all of the mushrooms with my Pampered Chef slicer. He did a great job and it was fun having him next to me helping in the kitchen.
Wednesday, I had to go to Young Women's so Eli and Jamie ate with my parents while Katie and I went to church. I got home that night, fed Katie, and got ready to make more eggrolls. We had decided that since we had all that oil we didn't want it to waste. So, we were going to make another batch and freeze them so we could reheat them later. Jamie had even gone to an oriental store and gotten oriental sausage and a different brand of eggroll wrappers. He and Eli got home so he and I got started cooking the filling. I let Jamie cook the filling this time, because I had started to feel a little tired and my throat had started to hurt just a little. After the filling was cooked, I wrapped them all and Jamie did the frying again. By now, I was very tired and didn't feel so great. I did try one of the eggrolls, but didn't really get to enjoy them because I was feeling so poorly. I finally got Eli to bed and I went to bed too. I felt bad because I left all of the cooking mess in the kitchen and Jamie had to wait until the eggrolls cooled to put them in the freezer. All night long I tossed and turned and my throat ached.
By Thursday morning, I knew I had something. I thought it might be strep throat, but didn't know for sure. So, I laid on the couch all day. Mama and Daddy came and got the kids that afternoon and I decided I better go to the doctor. Sure enough, it was Strep Throat. He started me on an antibiotic right in the office. He also gave me something for nausea and pain. Mama and Daddy kept Eli Thursday night so that he wasn't crawling on me in the middle of the night. Jamie and Eli went to Barnwell on Friday for Nana's birthday. I was going to make her a birthday cake, but when I got sick, Jamie took over. He made the entire cake and frosted it too. He did a great job. Katie was such a good baby while I've been sick. I block off the kitchen and hall and lay on the couch and she just doodles around and plays. She made being sick a little easier. Eli was very concerned for his Mommy. He wanted to hug me and kiss me so that I felt better. It was so sweet.
Being sick definately helped me realize how blessed I am to have family so close by and have family that are willing to help out. My parents were great by taking the kids so that I could just rest. Jamie was WONDERFUL! He cleaned up our egg roll mess and did a great job with the kids. (He even changed Katie's poopy diapers. :) ) I am very blessed for such a great family. I also had many friends and family that called to check on me. Although I'm sure they thought I sounded kind of funny with my swollen throat, it was nice to hear from them.
As you can see, I have no pictures, but I just had no energy for taking pictures. Hopefully this week will be a little more exciting.
