Laura Lynn and Ginny's Safari Party

This past Saturday, we had a joint birthday party for Laura Lynn and Ginny. Laura Lynn turned 2 the day before and Ginny will be 4 this coming Sunday. We chose to have a party away from home--which was our first. We had the party at the SC State Museum. They offered a safari through the museum as an activity. Laura Lynn was very excited to get to her party!
When we got to the museum, we were taken to the party room. They had it set up so that each child got a hat to decorate for our safari. They had stickers and markers to decorate with. The birthday girls did a great job with their hats.
When they finished their hats, they could look at some animals through a magnifying glass.
After all of the guests had arrived (we had 17 children there), we set out on our safari wearing our safari hats. Ginny and Laura Lynn were able to lead the way. I love Laura Lynn's excitement!
We were lead through the 2nd floor of the museum to see many animals that used to roam SC and that roam SC today. The kids really liked the great big shark that hung above us.

This is all of the children at the party in front of the dinosaur exhibit.
When we were finished with our safari, we came back to the room for cake. Laura Lynn loves the Llama Llama books. We read them all the time. Ginny agreed that we needed a Llama Llama cake for their birthday. We made it half yellow cake and half chocolate cake.
We opened presents and then gave our goody bags. It was so much fun!!!

After the party was over, we stayed at the museum and toured some other parts with our Benson cousins. We had lots of fun with our cousins. We ended up going to California Dreamin' for a late lunch. The kids had a lot of fun and were so well behaved in the restaurant. One older gentleman complimented us on how well behaved they were. It was a great day!
