Happy 8th Birthday, Eli!

Eli turned 8 years old last Thursday, December 1st. I went to school that day and had lunch with him. He had requested pizza from Subway. I also brought cupcakes with spiders made of M&Ms on them for his class to enjoy. For supper, he had requested chicken wings and raw fries from Carolina Wings. I told him we weren't going out to eat, but his daddy decided to make his own chicken wings and delicious raw fries. Jamie made 3 different flavor wings and the raw fries were gone in no time. Eli ate, and ate, and ate. He loved his wings!!
We had a little cake for him to celebrate.

That morning before he went to school, we gave him his present. He was a little disappointed at first when we told him that the bag he was going to open did not have a toy. However, after explaining to him that what was in the bag was something he could use the rest of his life, he decided he would open it on up. Inside his bag were his first set of scriptures. They are burghundy and we had his name engraved on the front. He was so excited! He hugged both Jamie and me and kept on going on about how he was going to get to take them to church. It made us so happy to see him so excited about his scriptures. That night as he was getting ready to go to bed, we found him in his room reading in Genesis. We are so proud of the boy he is becoming.
He was interviewed today by our Bishop because he is getting baptized next Sunday, December 11th. He is very excited to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
