Katie's First Slumber Party

Katie's birthday is on Monday and she will be 6. So, this year we decided to have a slumber party at Grandma's house and do a spa theme. Katie decided on 11 friends/cousins that she wanted to invite. 9 of the girls she invited were able to come to the spa. So, including Katie and Ginny (Laura Lynn went home at bedtime and slept with Jamie) there were 11 girls ages 3 - 11 that spent the night. It was a blast!!
We started the evening at 6:00pm. As the girls arrived, we had a table set up for them to color princess posters and another table set up to make some foam butterflies. This kept them entertained for a short while and gave me an opportunity to talk to parents as they were dropped off. When they got antsy with those activities, I let them loose in the back of the house with all of the dress up clothes and the giant dollhouse. They even turned the tv on in case they just wanted to catch up on their favorite show.
Jennifer and Hannah helped out by doing foot baths and foot massages with Mary Kay Satin Hands products. The girls loved it! Laura Lynn enjoyed watching and at the end of the night, Hannah made sure she had her feet done too. (No pictures because I was doing nails while this was going on.)

Jamie brought pizza home around 7:00pm and we ate pizza, chips, grapes, and carrots. We then started on nails and after Hannah finished with the feet, she started on makeup.

After everyone had their feet done, their nails done--including nail stickers, and their makeup done, we had cake and ice cream. I loved this picture the most because you can tell she really was trying hard to blow those candles out.

After cake and ice cream, we put on pajamas and then opened presents. Katie received many fun things. She was so grateful for everything. I am so proud of her because she is very gracious when she gets a gift. It can be clothes, money, or toys and her face just lights up and she's so excited.
We then put on a movie, "Beauty and the Beast" and some watched and some kept on dressing up and dancing. We even had a mini pillow fight.
This is Katie with Avery, Camryn and Lila. Avery and Katie knew each other from Trinity and Camry and Avery are sisters. I work with their mom.

They enjoyed laying in their sleeping bags and watching "Hannah Montana" also. This is Katie with her two little friends from her kindergarten class--Lila and Kinley.
Hannah let them all chose their lip color after they had eaten cake and ice cream. Abby is next to Hannah. She and Katie know each other from Trinity and they are now in the Daisy girl scout troop together. Her mom and I went to high school together and now we work together also.

Mychael was also at the party. She and Katie went to Trinity together and she goes to church with us as well as our little cousin, Emery. Katie's other cousins, Logan and Hannah were there also.

Friday night the last one went to sleep around 1:15am and they were all up at 7:30am when a huge clap of thunder woke them. So, they dressed up again, danced, and ate pancakes.

My mom surprised them with this giant cardboard house that they loved coloring and playing in until they were picked up. Notice all of the braided hair. After breakfast Saturday morning, I went to work braiding anyone's hair that wanted it braided. I think there was only 1 that did not want their hair braided. It took me a while. : )

With such a successful first slumber party, I'm sure we'll have many more!
