First Day of School

Today was the first day of school. Eli and Katie were all excited to start school and meet some new friends. Last night, we got all of their clothes out, packed their lunches, and Jamie gave them each a Priesthood blessing. It was the end to a great day! It took them a little while to go to sleep because they were so excited.
This morning I woke them up, fed them eggs and toast, and they were ready in record time. We were able to beat the rush into the school and I was able to see each of them into their classes while Jamie stayed at home with the two little ones. Here they are about to enter into the school.
We walked down to Eli's classroom first. His 2nd grade teacher is Mrs. Garifalon. She is a very nice person. Eli told her at the Back to School Bash last Thursday that he had looked at her picture in the yearbook and he could see the joy in her eyes. She said that just made her day. : )
We left Eli to do his morning work and headed up the hall to Katie's kindergarten classroom.

Katie is in Mrs. LaMarche and Mrs. Toney's class. Mrs. Toney was in Eli's kindergarten classroom and I've known her for years. Mrs. LaMarche is new to our school this year, but we know she is going to be a great teacher for Katie.
This is Mrs. Toney and Katie.

Katie got settled in--after pictures--and went right to work. She was very happy when I left and didn't look my way as I walked out the door.
Eli and Katie both said they had a great first day of school. Eli had several things to do for homework and Katie has a little homework due by Friday. I know they will both have a great year with their teachers.

They're such big kids now! I'm pretty sure I will cry the day I take Hailey to kindergarten.
