I sure do love spring! We have had a great couple of weeks! The weather has been very nice around here. It's been very warm. I can't imagine how warm it will be this summer since it has been so warm lately. I'm already getting quite the tan on my arms since I sit outside with the kids at work. This summer I plan on letting my legs get nice and tan too while sitting out there.
Because the weather has been so nice, we have spent many afternoons outdoors. We attended Jamie's uncle, Uncle Bill's funeral on Sunday, March 18th up in Simpsonville, SC. It was a very nice funeral. It was interesting, but one of the men, John Griffin, who preached at it, used to hang out here in Blythewood at my great grandparents house a lot. I would love to sit with him sometime and hear some stories about my great grandparents and other family members. He was actually good friends with Jamie's dad and introduced Jamie's parents 40+ years ago. It's so cool how small the world is sometimes. : ) Eli went with my parents up to the mountains that Sunday so that we didn't have to battle him and Katie at the funeral. The next day, Katie and I met Jamie for lunch. We went to a park close to the Home Depot. That Katie sure enjoyed playing on the equipment. She loves to slide and is fearless when it comes to going down them. Jamie even got adventursome and slid down with her.
Katie and Eli have especially enjoyed riding the John Deere tractor with Papa lately. Katie was a little afraid of it at first, but now she heads straight to it. He buckles them onto the kid's seat and they ride right along with him. I guess they're going to be farmers one day. We'll have to help Papa with the garden this year.
Unfortunately, more sad news to write about. Jamie's Uncle Pete passed away last night. This is Jamie's mom's brother. It is so sad to see so many loved ones pass away so close together. The only comfort is that Uncle Pete is not suffering anymore. The funeral will probably be in Saluda on Monday.
