Tonsilectomy

I had my tonsils out on June 27th.  I am so grateful for so many wonderful people keeping my kids while I was recovering.  Ginny went to Nana's the day before the surgery and didn't come home until Saturday night.  Eli had cub scout day camp, so Yadira took him each morning, picked him up, and even let him spend the night Wednesday night with them.  Katie went to stay with the Burns family on Wednesday, Mrs. LaMarche (her Kindergarten teacher) on Thursday, and she went to the mountains with Grandma on Friday.  Laura Lynn stayed with Grandma on Wednesday (she took her for her follow up with the surgeon), went to Grandma's on Thursday (I think), and went to Sister Vicky's and Aunt Jennifer's on Friday.

The recovery wasn't as bad as I thought.  It hurt and I couldn't eat a lot of stuff, but I'm so glad they're out.  I ate a lot of pudding, popsicles, scrambled eggs, ramen noodles, and ice cream.  I had so many people who brought me treats and mad recovery much better.

On Sunday after surgery, Jamie drove me and the kids to the mountains where mama took good care of me.  We went to the movies twice, went to the park, went to the fourth of July event at the festival grounds in Maggie Valley, and watched the fireworks show at the church.  It was a relaxing week and I felt very blessed that mama was there to take care of the kids for me to really relax and heal.

I drove myself and the kids home on Saturday where we were greeted with welcoming arms by Jamie.  He had missed us all week.  I went to work the following Monday.
