The kids were out of school the day after Easter. So, we spent a fun afternoon at the zoo. Laura Lynn had not been to the zoo since she was a baby. She had lots of fun! We started at the bears. This was Eli's favorite animal when he was her age.
They really enjoyed the kangaroos and being so close to them.
Eli is doing a research paper on gorillas, so we spent a good amount of time reading all about the gorillas and observing them. One was at the window sleeping and we loved getting up close and seeing the details in his hands and feet.
Eli had fun talking to the goat. Laura Lynn didn't mind at all petting them either. She is such an animal lover.
We rode the train. I had to ride with them because Laura Lynn didn't want to ride without her mama.
Of course, a trip to the zoo wouldn't be the same without lots of stops at the statues for pictures.
Near the end of our trip, Eli and Katie wanted to go rock climbing. So, they climbed up the rock wall. Katie made it all the way to the top. Eli came very close to the top, but said it was too much of a stretch to make it all the way. I was very proud of my two little monkeys for climbing so well. Can't wait for another afternoon at the zoo.
