We were able to spend our Spring Break at Edisto Beach with the Benson family. We had such a great time. It was hard choosing which pictures to journal with. We were so blessed with wonderful weather most of the week. We spent several days at the beach for 4-5 hours at a time. This was the first time we've gone to the beach and didn't have to factor in naps for little ones. The kids all had so much fun! The water was a little cold, but they didn't mind at all. They built huge forts with multiple rooms, found neat shells and ocean critters. There were lots of jelly fish the first couple of days--more than I've ever seen. Fortunately no one was stung and they were even picking them up and throwing them back in the water.
We also were able to go to someone's dock and crab. It was the first time I had ever crabbed. The kids loved it!
All of the cousins really enjoyed spending time with each other. The last full day there, Friday, it was cold and we didn't venture onto the beach. The girls planned a pageant that was held that evening. They each had a private training session with my 9 year old niece where they decided what "disney princess" dance they were going to do and what freestyle dance they would do. They wore my shirts for their "formal" wear. It was great! We loved watching them do their sweet dances.
This first picture is the morning we were leaving. As you can see, no one wanted to leave.
Eli learned how to clean crab.
All 9 of the Benson cousins.
Lollie loved being out there with her Nana trying to catch a crab.
Katie was a mermaid on the beach. (Notice the placement of the sea shells.)
Jamie took a nap with Paisley the golden retriever.
Lollie was so tired that she fell asleep and didn't even finish her cupcake.
Ginny in her "formal" attire.
Eli was in charge of the net when a crab was caught.
