Easter 2007

We had a really good Easter. Eli had his Easter program on Wednesday before Easter. It was real cute. His class walked in carrying their little crosses and laid them down by the big cross in the chapel. They then sat down and sang with the older kids. Eli is one of the only kids in his class that will sing so he did a really good job. They were going to let him come in and stand with the older kids, but then we thought some people might think he was getting special treatment since I work there, so he just stayed with his class.

On Friday morning, we went to the zoo. It was very cold, so we weren't there long, but it was plenty long to see the bears. Of course, my battery died and I didn't get to take pictures of the bears, but we'll have to go again soon with new batteries. The gorilla was hilarious as usual. I love it when he's right by the window because you don't know what to expect. He put his hind end up at us, sat down and ate branches, and when he was done, he just rolled over and took a nap. He's a hoot!

Saturday morning we had our church easter egg hunt. Again it was freezing, but lots of fun. The kids had fun getting their eggs and then Eli even had tricycle races. He won by a mile during his race. They had pizza and lots of other games for them to play with. It was a great activity.

Mama celebrated her 60th birthday on Saturday. I made her a carrot cake and we ate it on Sunday night.

On Saturday I decided that because it was going to be so cold on Easter that Katie needed a little shawl to wear. SO, in all my spare time, I crocheted her a little shawl. She looked really cute in it. The Easter bunny was good to the kids. He brought them each a DVD (Charlotte's Web and Happy Feet) and lots of candy. I got some pictures before church but didn't venture outside for any because it was chilly. When we got home we took some more pictures outside. Unfortunately because it had frozen Saturday night, all of the azaleas that had been so beautiful just the day before were withered and dead. After pictures, we changed and headed next door to Mama and Daddy's for Easter dinner: ham, deviled eggs, rolls, salads, and macaroni and cheese. It was delicious. After supper we hunted eggs again outside.

Tuesday, Daddy got a bed prepared for us to plant strawberries. So, Jamie planted and I watched (Well, I made sure the kids didn't pull them right back up.) Hopefully in a few weeks/months we'll have some delicious strawberries.

I'm sorry about a slide show everytime I blog, but it seems that no computer around likes me to upload pictures, so slide it is.

Have a great Spring Break!

Hey I noticed that I can't get pictures to upload on AOL lately. Maybe that is the problem. Cute pictures of the kids.
