Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to all! We had a FABULOUS New Year's weekend at Edisto Beach. We went down on Thursday and met all of Jamie's family there. They had rented a beautiful house for the weekend that was right on the beach. It was called "Dolphin Watch". Many times, we sat and watched dolphins 10-20 feet from the edge of the water diving in the water. They are beautiful creatures. I think that the pictures tell the story of our trip. Fun was definately had by all. Eli loved the beach. We actually couldn't keep him from getting in the water and getting wet. He must have gone through several pair of clothes a day. He and his cousins loved riding their bikes too. He sure had fun once he got the hang of riding his new bike. Katie loved playing outside as well. She was full of energy. She took great naps while we were there, most of them being 3 hours each. I guess that's why she had so much energy.
Jamie had to come back and work Saturday and Sunday, but he was back in plenty of time to ring in the New Year with us all. Eli took a 4 hour nap Sunday so that he was wide awake when the ball dropped. He was so sweet sitting on my lap kissing me and telling me, "Happy New Year Mommy!" We headed back late Monday night and had to get back to reality Tuesday morning, but it sure was fun for a vacation. The view was fabulous and I loved taking pictures of the horizon with the ocean. The last afternoon, Jamie, Eli, and I went for a walk on the beach. We discovered a live horseshoe crab right at the edge of the water. Jamie picked it up and let Eli look at it. It was really cool. We returned it to the water before we walked off. A little further down the beach, we found a horseshoe crab shell that was 2 times bigger than the live crab we had seen. Jamie kept it because we'll let it dry out good and have a cool helmet. : ) Well, we might not really use it as a helmet, but it looks really cool!
We're still waiting on them to move our house. Hopefully we'll have it moved by the end of the week.
