A Day at the Zoo

Today, we took a trip to the zoo with my good friend, Ginger, and her 2 boys. While there Ginger and I talked about her blog that she keeps. So, I decided to try and keep one going too so that our family and friends can keep track with us. I figured this way I would actually keep a type of journal so that I can look back and see what was going on in our lives too. So, here goes. The official Benson Family Blog.

Like, I mentioned, today we went to the Riverbanks Zoo. Eli had a great time. He walked around the whole time with his monkey on his back. It is a great way to keep him from running off. I hold onto the monkey's tail so that he can't get too far away from me.

Katie rode in her stroller and took in everything.

Eli's favorite animal exhibit was the bear exhibit. He saw two grizzly bears wrestling when we first got there. He talked about the bears the whole time. So, we had to go back to the bear exhibit before we left the zoo. It was a beautiful day to be outside at the zoo. I think the temperature was in the low 70s.

Yesterday, Katie went for her 6 month check-up. She seems to be doing wonderful. The doctor said she was a perfectly healthy little girl. She weighed 14 lbs. 2 oz. which is in the 25th percentile for her age. It is kind of funny to compare Eli to her at this age. At his 6 month check-up he weighed a little over 21 lbs. and was in the 90th percentile. So it looks like we have a dainty little girl after all.

It is fun being with the kids each day and seeing how much they grow. It amazes me the things they learn too. Eli and Katie stay with my sister-in-law's sister from Mexico when I tutor. She is wonderful with them. When I picked them up on Monday afternoon, Eli started counting in Spanish in the truck on the way home. I'm very glad that Jessica uses Spanish around them so that they can pick up some of another language.

Keep checking back for more updates on the Benson Blog.
