Well, it's been a hot, hot month! We've tried to stay cool the best that we could which has meant a lot of time in the pool. It sure is nice living next door to a swimming pool. The kids have all gotten really good at swimming. Eli is just a little fish in the water. Katie loves swimming without her swimmies. I have to watch her, but she's doing very good without them. Ginny loves "diving" into the pool. She has a great life jacket called a "puddle jumper" and she has no fear at all about jumping into the pool. She even loves it when Wyatt throws her into the pool.
We were able to spend an entire week up in Maggie Valley, NC the week of the fourth. Jamie was not able to take vacation yet, due to inventory coming up soon, but he did have 2 days off in a row and was able to come up for a few days. We really enjoyed relaxing and enjoying the cooler weather. It was so nice to be able to go outside in the afternoon and not be miserable. We found an awesome park nearby that we had never visited before. I'm sure we'll visit this park each visit to the mountain house. We were able to see South Carolina win a national championship in baseball. This was a fun night. It wasn't until midnight that the game ended, but I've never seen Jamie more happy. It was also fun to make some phone calls and see who was up that late at night. Eli, Hannah, and I went and saw Eclipse on Wednesday afternoon. Eli, Katie, Ginny, Hannah, Wyatt, and I went and saw Toy Story 3 on Thursday. Eli, Mama, Hannah, and Wyatt went and saw Grown Ups on Friday. If you can't tell, movies are much cheaper up in the mountains. Eli loved seeing so many movies in one week. On Saturday, Daddy cooked 14 Boston Butts on his grill. We took it to the church that night for their annual Fourth of July Cook out. After the cook out, Mama, Jennifer, Katie, Hannah, and Ginny went to the Stompin' Ground and watched some clogging. They really enjoyed that. Katie and Ginny especially love to dance. Sunday evening we went to a barbeque right down the road to some of mama and daddy's neighbors. That evening we watched the firework display that the town of Maggie Valley puts on each year.
Monday we headed home and that evening Christy Peake took some pictures of the kids. I'll post them later when I get the CD. They were awesome!!! It was a nice vacation and we look forward to one more this summer when Jamie can join us the whole time. Until then, we'll just keep swimming and having a great summer!

One more for laughs--Daddy reclined his chair back a little too far and it just kept on going. The kids rushed in and grabbed the camera so that they could document Papa's fall. (By the way, he was all right. : )
